Miyazaki Hayao
I chose this artist because I fell in love with his work at a young age and was always fascinated with the animation and detail in his artwork as well as the storytelling. His artwork is very captivating because of his individual art style. He creates animations and founded one of the highest grossing animation film studios in Japan. His father had a manufacturing company that built parts for zero fighter planes. This had a big influence on many of his works as he had a love for flying along with his Japanese culture. The selected element of design is texture, as shown in the image. The clouds are drawn very fluffy, and the castle looks shiny from the metal while the wood looks weathered down. You can also tell which surfaces are raised or lowered like the bolts. The texture of the grass is also notable. The mountains are also textured to show how bumpy and rough the surface is.
