Ningiukulu Teevee
My current favourite visual artist would be Ningiukulu Teevee. The Owl’s Lookout drawing in particular has many details that catch my attention. The type of artwork that Teevee creates involves owls, walruses and seabirds that are part of the Cape Dorset annual print collection. The background story of Teevee is that she is a self-taught artist that develops drawings based on her Inuit history and culture. Which were passed on to her from her elders' generation. In addition, she bases her artworks on her daily life events too and expresses her experiences through her drawings. Since the year of 2004, she has been creating artwork for the Cape Dorset annual print collection and besides creating drawings she also writes books. Which many people like and has become popular. The artwork presents some elements of design. Such as curvy lines outlining the owl and raven, circular shapes in the design on the owl's body and colour differences in the eyes and the body of the owl.
